Other accessories
The M-209 manual (TM 11-380) lists the official M-209 accessories, but
other accessories were needed:
- A pencil. A code clerk needs a pencil to write (for example) the
indicators on the tape. Storage is housed in the canvas to put it.
- The M-210 message book. All messages (received, sent) were written
(or pasted) on a Message Book Form. A copy can be housed in the
canvas.
- A brush, for example a typewriter brush, or a toothbrush. A code
clerk needs it to clean some parts of the machine.
- A cloth (for the same purpose).
Remark: Other manuals can be housed in the canvas, for example the
FM 24-5 (Basic Field Manual, Signal Communication). But, SOI, the most
important document used with M-209 is too large to fit any filling place
of the canvas.
